The little excursion that took me to Sanibel a few weeks ago also took me to Disney for my mom’s birthday. In a marathon event we went to 3 parks in 1 day to see as much of the Christmas decorations as possible. While seeing decorations may do it for some people I took this as an opportunity to do what I usually do at Disney, take in the wonderfully rich details they go to great pains to include in their parks.

Another early December trip to Sanibel Florida is though and here are a few choice shots. I was fortunate to have found a small flock of Ruddy Turnstones feeding on a dead crab washed up in the surf. However, the big show was a Snowy Egret that was absolutely fearless and ready to approach well within my 6-foot minimum focus distance.

Time Inc. the owners of Sport’s Illustrated have demoed a digital interactive magazine based on a touch screen tablet PC for Tech Crunch. While I think it may be a bit premature to be fully successful the fact that more companies are looking at tablet devices and throwing ideas into the fray can only be a good thing.
